Sickness, Cabin Fever, and Loneliness
My doctor won't let me go to work for the rest of the week. Yesterday I awoke to a small campfire in my throat! Oh the pain! I managed to crawl out of bed and get ready for work. While driving to work in a torrential downpour, I realized just how badly I felt. As soon as I got into my office, I called and made a doctor's appointment for a couple hours later. I left work early to find out that I have some sort of infection similar to strep. My doctor laughed when I mentioned work. He said, "Haha, you aren't going there until next week!" So I'm stuck at home, miserable. I have very little food and drink. Damn, this is when a husband or boyfriend would come in handy. But nooooo, I have to actually take care of myself! *Off to pout now*

I hope you feel better.
aww hun... get well soon! but on the upside at least you get to laze around all day not working?
Yeah, I hope you feel better soon too.
:(
Ugh! Damn girl I'm sorry! Feel better!
Next time you get to the sore-throat aisle, step to the nose stuff. Look for 'saline nasal mist'. Ocean is a national brand, most stores make their own label version. Spray twice in each side, once an hour, and blow - helps clear sinuses, which is where the post-nasal drip comes from, that makes the throat burn.
Try a cough drop, see if that helps the throat any.
Keep up the fluids, the fiber (graham crackers, metamucil, oatmeal, ramen noodles, etc.) Stick to warm drinks - cold drinks will interfere with digestion, where soups, teas (I like Celestial Seasoning's Honey Lemon Ginseng, with honey), and warm water are comfort foods.
Remember that gargling with warm to hot salt water is a specific to relieve throat and mouth pain.
Lots of fluids - dehydration will only make recovery slower, and extend the time of feeling yucky.
You might try a few capsules of echinacea or echinacea/golden seal for a day or two - a one or two day regimen can kick start the immune system, continued after that doesn't help.
A good warm bath with epsom salts can help with aches.
Take care!
LOL! Thanks Brad! Are a doctor?
I'm already doing most of that stuff. As a long-time allergy and sinus sufferer, I always keep saline mist on hand!
Another friend of mine recommended echinacea/golden seal also! I will pick it up when I make it back out in public!
get well soon! being sick sucks!
Thanks for the well wishes everyone! I'm feeling a little better today than yesterday, so let's hope tomorrow is spectacular! :)
Get better soon! You aren't supposed to be sick for a holiday weekend!
On a positive note: being sick at home is much better than having to be sick and still work. Just looking for the brighter side... Love you honey, take care of yourself...
Hello there...
I hope you feel better...
Put your feet up ...grab all of your huge, fluffy pillows and rest your spirit and your mind...
I'll be praying.
Peace, blessings and DUNAMIS!
