Match Me!

Earlier this week, I took the plunge and joined Match.com. A couple of my friends have had some luck on there and have been urging me to join for some time now. Honestly?? I didn't want to pay for it! Yeah, yeah call me a cheap bastard (umm...bitch??)!! I bit the bullet and pulled out the credit card.

I've had quite a few responses on there. Some might even be worth meeting! One, in particular, has stolen my interest. He was actually the first to contact me. We will call him MatchMan. MatchMan and I had our first phone conversation Thursday evening. That convo lasted into the wee hours of the morning! I know...that's teen phone call status! And if you know me, you know that I don't do that crap. I really can't stand talking on the phone. Since then, we have been non-stop texting and talking on the phone. I just hope this guy captures my interest half this much when we finally do meet in person. When will that be, you ask? Possibly tomorrow night. If not then, we plan to get together Tuesday. We both already had other obligations for the weekend. I don't remember the last time a man made me laugh so much, and if you know me, that is definitely a prerequisite for a relationship.

Wow! Sounds like you may have found something here! I've gotta say, online dating's not my cup of tea, but a few of my friends have done really well with it lately. Good luck to you =)

Taking the plunge with online dating is something that I debated for a long time, too -- and a huge reason was the same reason as your's: I didn't want to pay for it!

But you know what I think? You need to make that investment in trying to find someone if that's what your end goal is. If the other avenues haven't panned out, then why not give online dating a try?

Fingers crossed that this will lead to something promising!

Oh, I wish you such luck!! Those first days of infatuation are so exciting and heady!

I did the online thing for 3 years. Talked to dozens of nice guys, some weenies, a couple of assholes...actually dated 4 men. I took a chance on #4, decided to try an LDR, fell madly in love with him but it didn't work out. I've been sour about online dating since but I'm thinking about trying it again - I'm not meeting any local men, let alone those who appreciate a gorgeous, intelligent, witty BBW!

great! good luck with match.com. i used to be on it and then started getting some truly creepy messages from guys who wanted to cook me pasta in their garden apartments.

I have joined dating websites before, but always ones you can get away with NOT paying for :) I guess I always just felt like I'd be pathetic if I had to resort to PAYING to find someone to date. Not that you are pathetic, those were just my own feelings about myself. I might end up paying for it one day...I've considered it many times. But, I digress..

I hope you have chemistry with him in person. One of my least favorite parts of online dating was when you really clicked with someone and then you met them in person and...nothing. This is why I retired my online dating career haha! I DO know a few people who have met their current husbands online, so I know it CAN happen. Good luck :)
